Askey Takes New Post

Alleynians` new man was previously boss of Eccleshall when they enjoyed their most successful spell, winning three league titles and the Staffs Vase.

Askey has brought in Chris Johnson as his player/assistant-manager, with Craig Atkinson as first-team coach.

Meanwhile, Steve Slater will continue as Alleynians’ reserve team manager in the Staffs County League.

“Bob and Steve will work closely together, operating both teams as one,” said chairman Dave Mardling.

“They plan to use mainly Stone-based players, although other players will be signed. They have been encouraged by the initial interest shown by the local community.

“A number of local sponsors have already pledged their support, including painter and decorator Karl Reed.”
