And to compound their miserable debut, skipper Chris Waterhouse was sent-off late on after picking up two yellow cards.

Substitute Ravi Sangha struck a consolation goal 3 minutes from time but they had no answer to the home side as Rocester eased into a 3-0 interval lead through goals from Jack Langston, Craig Smith and Nick Ward.

Edwin Ahenkorah struck twice in the second half for the Staffordshire side to wrap up the win. Tividale were also convincing winners, seeing off Kirby Muxloe 3-0.

Brett Clarke, Kyle Hill and Kyle Brady scoring to secure the points.

Second half goals from Tom Law and Dominic Reece were enough to give Boldmere St Michaels a 2-1 win at home to Alvechurch, for whom Andy Nicol struck an opener before seeing red late on.

Studley beat Coventry Sphinx 1-0, thanks to a Myron Semper header while Tim Jackson’s second half strike gave Stourport Swifts the points against Heather St Johns.

Andy Hartlebury scored Bridgnorth Town’s winner as they saw off Coleshill Town 3-1 and it finished 2-2 at Heath Hayes where Stratford Town were the visitors – Lee Smith and Chris Deakin netting for the home side and Mark Faulds and Joe Halsall on target for Town.

Jamie Cuss scored twice as Westfields beat Ellesmere Rangers 3-2. His first half brace put the Herefordshire side in control only for the visitors to claw back through Josh Brown’s penalty and a Robbie Aldrich own goal.

Only a goal from Richard Kear 7 minutes from time gave Westfields a winning start.

Meanwhile, a Liam Green strike 14 minutes from time gave Loughborough University a 1-0 victory over Causeway United.

A Mitch Plows penalty looked to have earned Tipton Town the spoils at Highgate United until DJ Pitt netted a late equaliser, and it was the same scoreline at Continental Star where Rikardo Reid grabbed an 89th minute goal to cancel out Stuart Robinson’s first half effort for visitors Dunkirk.
