Baker Quits as Joint Boss
James Baker

Baker left the club following a meeting with chairman Gary Downie, who admitted it was sad to see him go.

He said: “James had my full backing but work just got a bit too much, so it was in the best interests of both the club and James but I didn’t want to lose him. There will always be a place for him at the club.”

Downie also revealed that he is looking into finding a replacement for Baker but he was keen to stress that he is happy with the current managerial set-up and said: “I am speaking to two or three but whether they will take the job I’m not sure. We are weighing up our options but the club is in capable hands under Martyn, Dom and Paul as they have a lot of experience.”

Martyn Rea is being assisted by both Paul Curtis and Dom Shepherd as the club look to try to survive in Division One.

Rea said: “I would like to thank James for his efforts for the club as he worked his socks off. We may not be doing well in the league but you can’t underestimate the work he put in.”
