from Blue Square Bet South neighbours Eastbourne Borough.
Banks, who won the Supporters' award in 2009, has been out of favour at Priory Lane this season, and moves to the Dripping Pan to cover for Fabian Spiess, who injured himself in training at parent club Notts County this week.
Banks joins Albert Jarrett, who signed for Lewes earlier this week and made his debut in the defeat at East Thurrock United.
Jarrett is well known to Brighton fans having moved to Withdean in 2004 from Wimbledon, but was loaned to Stevenage and Swindon before a move to Watford in 2006.
Further loan spells at Boston United and MK Dons saw him leave Watford a year later, only to suffer knee injury which kept him out of the game for the 2007/08 season.
Jarrett moved to Gillingham in 2008/09, making sixteen appearances in a season which saw them win promotion to League One, but played the next season with Barnet, making forty-five appearances and scoring a final day goal which clinched their safety in the Football League for another year.
The Sierra Leone international with six caps moved to Lincoln City last season playing twenty-six times before a move to Aldershot on loan ended with his departure from Sincil Bank.
Another newcomer to the Dripping Pan this week is Harry Harding, who joins after his release from Bromley.
The midfielder joined the Kent side when he was 14 before moving to Reading in 2009.
He was loaned back to Bromley the following season and had a spell on loan with Kettering before his release from Reading last summer when he rejoined Bromley before leaving by mutual consent recently.
Jamie Cade has left the Dripping Pan as has Dominic Sterling, although Dominic has offered to stay with the club until he can move elsewhere.
