....ex-Crewe Alexandra professional Michael Koral.
The 19-year-old signed a contract with the Bears at the weekend, after the youngster had been in talks with manager Jim Vince.
Vince said: “I am very pleased to have Michael signing for Congleton Town. He is an outstanding young player and a wonderful talent as shown whilst he played for us last season.
“I know Michael really enjoyed his loan spell with us last season from Crewe Alexandra, so following his release from Crewe I spoke with Michael and outlined the club’s plan and the club ambitions.
“This signing shows that the club is progressing on and off the pitch. Michael could have chosen a team much higher up the non-League Pyramid but he chose the Bears as he knows something special is happening.
“Michael played for us in the last couple of months at the end of last season. We all recognised his quality and felt that his impact on the side’s success was very significant, and in such a short time he ended up as the club’s leading scorer.”
Club secretary Ken Mead added: “When Michael was released by Crewe last week, Jim met with Michael to explore the possibility of acquiring his services. Michael did not hesitate in signing for us as he has a real desire to win trophies and felt he could achieve this with us.
“Michael is a fantastic signing and one which will make a statement not only to our supporters but to our league rivals, that we mean business It reinforced our belief that Jim was not only capable of, but was actually close to, assembling a side that could put in a real challenge for promotion.”
