....Dean Inman on a three-month loan deal from Ryman League Premier Division side Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Boro failed with a bid to sign the player in the summer, but with Hampton getting off to a flyer after suffering relegation, and Inman missing the first couple of matches through suspension, he has seen his opportunities limited this season.
The versatile 21-year-old, who has racked up over 100 matches in the Conference South, is no stranger to Day, having played under him at Chertsey Town.
Commenting on the signing the Boro chief said: “I have made no secret that Dean was one of my summer targets but unfortunately we could not come to an agreement to bring him to the club. I am extremely grateful to Hampton for allowing him to join us on a three-month loan spell. Dean has been unfortunate that the club have got off to a great start and his match time has been limited, having worked with Dean before I know what an exciting prospect having worked with him when I was at Chertsey, and I look forward to seeing him pulling on a Farnborough shirt.”
Inman is looking forward to the experience, commenting: “I am really happy to be here at Cherrywood Road and look forward to getting some games under my belt. I know it has been a tough start for the club and hope to help the club climb the league table and of course a nice cup run as well would be a real bonus.”
Only last year Inman attracted the interest of Premier League Queens Park Rangers, spending two weeks on trial at the West London club, but the dismissal of Neil Warnock scuppered any potential dream move.
Having been an unused substitute in Hampton & Richmond’s FA Cup tie against AFC Kempston, the Beavers have granted permission for Inman to play for Boro in this year`s competition and he looks set to make his debut against Eastleigh on Saturday.
