Binfield Return for Davies
Carl Davies

Striker Davies, a former Cardiff City trainee who joined Binfield from Woodley Town little less than two years ago, left Binfield after their FA Vase defeat at Tividale.

He joined Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West side Thatcham Town at the end of January, playing in their 3-2 defeat at Yate Town and their goalless draw with Halesowen Town last Saturday.

However, it would appear that the grass wasn’t necessarily greener for Davies, and his return to Hill Farm Lane was announced in time for Binfield’s Bluefin Insurance Brokers Challenge Cup third round tie at Fairford Town on Tuesday night.

It seems Davies approached Thatcham after the Halesowen game asking for his registration with them to be cancelled.

And, as Binfield had retained his Hellenic League registration forms, maintaining that door was always open for the Welshman to return, a seven-day approach was not required.

He is not, as was first believed, signed on a dual registration basis, and will be available for the rest of Binfield’s season.
