West Midlands (Regional) League Division One club Blackheath Town have sacked manager John Grainger after a poor start to the season.

Blackheath have lost five of their first six games and sit just one place off the bottom of the table, having been beaten 4-1 by Warstone Wanderers last Saturday.

Grainger was given the news at a committee meeting last night.

Chairman Steve Newman will take over the managerial reins with Vic Brown, while John Carmichael and Richard Whittle will assist as members of the coaching.
