East Midlands Counties League

....the East Midlands Counties League.
Due to an unworkable arrangement with the Blackwell Miners Welfare committee the football club committee has decided to resign there position in the league.
The FA were informed earlier in the week with the hope that our FA Cup place could be passed onto another EMCL side but we were informed that it would have to go to the next club in line, hopefully that could be a side from our league.
Everyone at the club were looking forward to the new season, especially the entry into the FA Cup following our best ever season in the league when we finished eighth.
Plans for the new season were going well and Gary Hayward had assembled a good squad of players to build on the improvement of last year.
When it became clear last week that the position between the club and the welfare was unworkable, the club allowed Baris Northern Counties East League club Arnold Town to speak with Gary Hayward and we wish him well in his new position.
The chairman thanked all the committee for the work and effort that they had put in over the years to get Blackwell MW to their highest ever level in football.
It is ironic that by getting to this level it would have opened up access to funding levels through FSIF, Viridor and Football Foundation that could have led to the club completing their plans for new changing facilities on the ground.
