.....Vernol Blair as their new first-team manager.

Blair replaces Steve Nicol, who left the club earlier this month.

The new manager took charge of his first Miners’ game last week when they drew away at Hemsworth Miners Welfare.

Garforth finished fifth under Nicol last season and Blair’s appointment completes a major reshuffling of personel by chairman Simon Clifford at the Genix Healthcare Stadium.

The Miners kick-off their league campaign at home to Clitheroe on Saturday, August 18th when former first-team coach Blair will be assisted by Dave Smith.

Other changes see Joe Fella take over as general manager with Mark Hanson appointed as his assistant. Chris Wright has been appointed as the club’s new secretary
