....South side Hayes & Yeading United in their first friendly of the summer on Tuesday night.

Goals from Kieran Knight, Ryan Bird and Julian Owusu secured the success.

Boss Martin Stone was delighted with the display and says his squad looks to be in good shape.

He said:“It was a good win, the boys worked hard and played well.

“Almost everyone looked fit although there are one or two who need to get up to speed quickly if they want to be a part of what we’re doing here.

“But I was really happy with what I saw. There’s a good buzz in the squad.

“There’s three weeks to go and we need to keep up the intensity we’ve been showing in training.”

Owusu came off the bench to score on Tuesday night and Stone says he is delighted to have the striker back at the club.

He enjoyed a brief stint at The Gore last season on loan from Hayes & Yeading.

“He’s signed for the season and we’re really happy with that,” he said. “He looks sharp.”
