Bond Back at Club Who Once Sacked Him!
Wayne Bond

And after returning to the club that once sacked him, he believes his appointment can be a “perfect fit”.

Bond was dismissed as Swifts manager in January 2011, after two-and-a-half years at Scraley Road. They had only won one Ryman League Division One game in eleven fixtures and were languishing fourteenth.

Now, nearly eighteen months on, Bond is back as the club’s chief scout and played a pivotal role in last week’s swoop for Stanway Rovers trio Ben Newson, Michael Cheek and Russell Malton. “I’m so happy with the way things have turned out,” said Bond, who went on to manage Stanway after leaving Swifts.

“And there are no hard feelings whatsoever with Heybridge.

“I was hurt, upset and disappointed by what happened but, as I said at the time, I’d have sacked myself.

“Our results were awful and it’s a results-driven business.

"Now I’m back and I believe this arrangement can be a perfect fit."
