Boro boss Tommy Widdrington said: "We mutually agreed to terminate his contract after this Monday night`s training session.

“I thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future. I feel it hasn't worked out, and think it best he goes and play some regular football, which I couldn't guarantee him."

The club understands that Turpin is already in negotiations with interested parties.
