.....AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ cup homecoming when the two sides clash in the FA Vase tomorrow.
The Ghosts will be out to spoil the party as Diamonds play their first-ever cup game in an FA competition since their rebirth just over a year ago.
Anderson has already seen his side record an upset by beating CRC 1-0 in the last round and he is plotting a repeat performance against the Northamptonshire side in the Second Qualifying Round.
A confident Anderson said: “We’ve probably got the best draw out of all of the games in the round.
“There will be a bumper crowd and we’ll be the underdogs but I think we are more than capable of going there and spoiling the party.
“We have the players who can go there and get a result if everyone is on top of their game. Nobody expected us to go and win at CRC in the last round and all of the pressure will be on Diamonds and not us.”
AFC Rushden & Diamonds, who have started their senior footballing life in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Division One, play their home games at Wellingborough Town.
More than 1,000 people are expected to pack into the Dog & Duck for tomorrow’s tie and Anderson said: “It will be good for the players to play in front of such a big crowd.
“A few of the lads like Stephen Harvey and Ben Boyce have played in front of big crowds before so hopefully they will help some of the other players through.”
Other than Lee Day, who has turned down a seven-day approach from UCL side Yaxley, Fakenham will have a full squad to choose from for their big day.
