Boss Squashes Player Departure Rumours
Steve Bateman

....who has told him he will not be at the club next season is Paul Coyne.

Bateman spoke out amid rumours that the likes of Nathan Bowden-Haase and Dave Woozley would be heading off for pastures new.

Bowden-Haase is said to be interesting ambitious Southern Premier Division new boys St Neots Town, while his centre back partner Woozley has also been linked with a move away from Holloways Park.

Bateman says he is not surprised that rival clubs are looking at his players but he insists Coyne is the only player to tell him he’s leaving.

The Rebels boss said: “At this stage the only player who I know won’t be here is Paul as he’s going travelling.

“I haven’t heard anything from Nathan or Dave - I will be having a chat with them soon though.

“I’m not surprised if people are looking at them, players like Nathan can comfortably play at a higher level.

“But I’m not unduly worried, whatever happens I know by August 18th we will have a strong squad that will be looking to compete for the title.”
