.....second demotion in just three years due to the standard of their Abbey Lawn facilities.
The Wakes have been told they will be unable to continue to play in the UCL Division One beyond this season unless they fully enclose their ground in line with requirements for Step 6 football.
Bourne were demoted from the UCL Premier Division to their current level in the summer of 2010 as their base did not come up to scratch.
The club’s ground is on land owned by the Bourne United Charities who would have to approve any changes.
Manager Darren Munton said: “A very small number of people have worked very hard to turn the club around in the last couple of years.
“To receive news like this is soul destroying to say the least.
“Money doesn’t grow on trees at our level and enclosing the ground is something that we can’t afford.
“We’ll have to speak to the Bourne Charities to see if anything can be done.”
Bourne operate with virtually no playing budget but have still attracted a number of new signings for this season.
Goalkeeper Alex Brown has joined from Holwell Sports, midfielder Tom Caldicott has moved from Cottesmore Amateurs and frontman Rhys Ford has stepped up from Stamford Bels.
