Twenty-three-year-old central defender Jamie Grimes has been snapped up from Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division side Redditch United and follows Michael Corcoran, who signed from Dover Athletic, into St James`s Park.
Grimes played for Swansea City as a first year pro and had trials at AFC Telford United before joining Redditch in October 2011.
“They are both very good young players and we will look to add to the squad over the next few weeks if we feel the need to do so,” said Brady, who has also persuaded Curtis McDonald to remain with the club after he joined near the end of last season.
But Tom Kemp, Joe Magunda and Paul Walker have left the club.
Saints entertain Nuneaton Town in their pre-season opener on Tuesday and will begin their league campaign with a visit to Altrincham.
“That will be a tough first test for the players but it will give us the chance to see where we are,” added Brady.
