Bamber Bridge moved two points clear at the top of the Evo-Stik League North table on Tuesday night after winning 3-0 at Lancashire rivals Colne.

In a re-arranged fixture at the Utility Renewals Stadium, the M65 derby was goalless at the break.

But within 6 minutes of the second half starting, the visitors broke the deadlock when Ali Waddecar won possession on the right wing, played the ball square to Brad Carsley who controlled and smashed the ball past the keep from 20 yards.

On 65 minutes, Danny Forbes tried his luck from the edge of the box but was fouled whilst shooting. From the resulting free-kick, Waddecar stepped up and curled a beauty around the wall, the keeper at full stretch was unable to reach it as the ball nestled in the back of the net.

On 75 minutes the game was put beyond doubt when Waddecar looked up and saw the advancing Dan Mooney, who met the cross to power a header into the back of the net.

Tuesday also saw one game in the Evo-Stik League South where newcomers Peterborough Sports made it four games without a win following a 4-1 home defeat to lower mid-table Carlton Town.

Jordan Wilson gave the Nottingham side an 11th minute lead that Jordan McLeod immediately cancelled out.

But that`s as good as it got for the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League champions as goals from Wilfried Gnahore after 35 minutes and Danny Gordon right on the half-time whistle gave the visitors a 3-1 interval lead that Mamoke Akuanu added to on the hour-mark.
