Briscoe Unsure of Harriers` Future
Michael Briscoe

....Kidderminster Harriers as several clubs chase his signature.

The 28-year-old is out contract at the Aggborough outfit and has yet to be offered a new one.

While he has not completely given up hope of re-signing at the club, he revealed three sides from the Blue Square Bet Premier have shown an interest in his services.

While he may move on, he's enjoyed his time at Harriers after two seasons.

“I spoke to the gaffer on the Monday after the Mansfield game and he said he wasn’t sure if he could offer me anything," commented Briscoe.

“He said he’d give me a call but I haven’t heard anything yet.

“I have had three Blue Square Bet Premier clubs show interest in me.

“I will give it another week and if I haven’t had a call from Harriers I will see what happens with the other clubs.

“There’s no hard feelings, I’ve had a brilliant time at Harriers, I loved playing for Steve Burr and Gary Whild and the fans have been brilliant to me as well. “I hope everyone understands that I have to look after my family.”

Briscoe joined Harriers in the summer of 2010 from Tamworth and soon established himself as one of the first names in the teamsheet with his whole-hearted performances at the heart of central defence.

He was an ever-present in the 2010/11 campaign but endured a frustrating 2011/12 season, where he struggled to dislodge the likes of Luke Jones, Tom Marshall and Tom Sharpe and suffered with a back injury.

During his two years at the club, he made fifty-seven appearances, scoring one memorable goal against Southport.

Despite his time at Harriers potentially coming to an end, Briscoe hailed Steve Burr and assistant Gary Whild.

He added: “Steve Burr has to be one of the best, if not the best, managers in non-league football and I am sure he will be managing a club in the Football League soon, hopefully that Harriers.

“When you play for him and Gary you just want to do your best for them and in my time there every player gave their all.”
