....after keeping them in Sussex County League Division One on the final day.
A convincing 5-1 win over Crowborough Athletic at Gorings Mead last Saturday ensured YM’s place in Division One of the County League next year.
It was a highly positive end to a turbulent season on the pitch, which saw YM lose two managers and struggle for results.
Former Dorking manager Buckland was officially given the job last Thursday, after stepping in over the Easter weekend when Mark Hawthorne quit.
Already looking to next season he said: “I’ve already had a chat with the players, we’ll be keeping the same squad, with four or five additions from my former club, and this time next year we’ll be smoking cigars, not scratching around where we are.”
“If I don’t finish in the top six next year I’m getting out of football, it’s as simple as that.”
