Burbeary, 25, has spent the last year or so with Victoria Highlanders of the USL Premier Development League - the fourth tier of the American Soccer – where he made a total of twenty-three appearances.

He started at Mansfield Town in the youth set-up before progressing onto Gainsborough Trinity, and then Aldershot Town in 2005.

In 2006 he joined Alfreton Town after impressing in pre-season, moving to Stalybridge Celtic in July 2007.

A switch to Tameside neighbours Droylsden followed the following November and he then turned out for Sheffield FC and Frickley Athletic before crossing the Atlantic in 2011.
