Evo-Stik League South Premier club Redditch United have parted company with manager Darren Byfield.
Byfield has led the team with professionalism and dedication, both on and off the pitch over the course of his tenure, for which the club will always be grateful for.
However, despite early season optimism, both domestic and cup results have fallen below the club’s expectations and ambitions, and the board believes that a change in leadership is necessary to fulfil its ambition of challenging for promotion this season.
Redditch chairman Chris Swan told his club`s official website: “On behalf of the Redditch United board, I would like to place on record my thanks to Darren for his tremendous hard work and commitment during his time with the club.
“He has made a valuable contribution to the club and I wish him the best of luck for the future.”
Club captain Danny Jackman has been placed in temporary charge until a successor has been appointed.
The club’s search for a new manager is already underway, and an announcement regarding Byfield’s replacement will be made in due course.
No further comment will be made by the club until the recruitment process is completed.
