The Antigua & Barbuda international helped the Cards clinch the Conference South title this season after joining them on loan from United in January.
It was Murtagh’s second temporary spell with Woking, having spent the end of last term on loan at the Kingfield Stadium while with Wycombe.
The midfielder, who has started just one game for United, has another year on his contract at the R Costings Abbey.
But Jez George said he expected Murtagh to move on in the near future as he does not feature in his plans.
He said: "I’ve spoken to him, so he knows my thoughts and we know Woking are keen as Garry Hill left a message for me on Wednesday.
"We’ve also heard of another club that are interested in him as well, so I expect something to happen."
