Carlisle Boy to be Handed Reds` Chance
Steve Swinglehurst

....Square Bet North club Workington. Boss Darren Edmondson has promised wholesale changes as his side labour to a mid-table end and Swinglehurst will star at left-back.

The move comes after Anthony Wright suffered concussion last time out.

Edmondson said: “Steven needs game time and we’re going to give him that.

“He’s been given bits and pieces so far so he gets used to the league but now he’s being thrown in the deep end.

“He’ll be given the last three games to prove himself.

“It can only aid his development. He’s a very good footballer and we should use him to get the most out of his loan.”

“It’s unfortunate for Anthony that he’s suffering from concussion but it gives another good player the chance he needs.

“I will be making a lot of changes to the side. It will be unrecognisable from normal but we need to do that to give the fringe players a chance.

“We have some decent footballers sat on the bench and we need to prepare for next season. The best way to do that is to give the fringe players a chance to shine.”
