...Premier Division club Holbeach United tonight.
The Tigers make the trip to Lincoln City’s Sincil Bank for the Lincs FA Senior Trophy final, with Baris Northern Counties East Leaguers Barton Town Old Boys lying in wait.
Although used to winning silverware with previous club Magnet Tavern, Chand admits delivering a cup win in his second season as Holbeach boss would be a bit special.
And with the club last lifting a trophy back in 2003, both he and the players have a chance to etch their names on the club’s history.
“We’re all really looking forward to it,” admitted Chand. “It’d be great to win a bit of silverware and everyone at the club is buzzing.
“Not many of the lads will have played in such a big game at a decent ground, so it’s a massive occasion.
“First and foremost, I want to win this game for the chairman and committee, who have been nothing short of outstanding since I came here.
“It’d also be nice to give something back to the fans, who have been great this season.
“For myself and the lads, it’ll be one to add to the CV and we’re all up for it.”
Chand will have to do without unavailable trio Derwayne Stupple, Liam Nimmo and James Wilson, but skipper Jamie Stevens is back to lead the trophy charge.
Opponents Barton have enjoyed a mixed season in the NCEL. They currently sit eleventh in the standings, but have reached the NCEL President’s Cup final and enjoyed a decent run in the FA Vase.
“It’ll be a tough game,” added Chand, whose side have not played since last Saturday. “They will fancy their chances and so do we.
“I don’t know a massive amount about them, but I think the Lincoln pitch will suit our style of play.
“We’re certainly very confident in our ability.”
