....season, but one thing that won't be changing is the league.
Despite finishing rock-bottom of Division Two last season, Oakwood have been told they haven't been relegated, subject to confirmation at the league's AGM.
The reprieve means that Oakwood will still be a senior football club and therefore be eligible to enter national competitions such as the FA Vase.
"Our secretary received a letter last Friday explaining we aren't going to be relegated, which is obviously great for the club," explained Gilbert.
"Now we need to start building for the new season.
"The table doesn't lie and we need to make some changes.
"We shot ourselves in the foot several times last season and we drew too many games."
Pre-season at Oakwood starts on July 3rd and Gilbert is hoping improved facilities at Tinsley Lane will attract players.
"We still aren't paying players but hopefully the fantastic pitch and improved changing rooms will attract players," he said.
"I want players who really want to play for this club, not because of the money. With Three Bridges and Crawley Down scrapping their reserve teams we might benefit as well.
"We have improved things vastly off the pitch, now we have to do the same on it."
