Toolstation Western Football League

The South Somerset side will play Weymouth in a friendly to mark the occasion – weather permitting of course. The ceremony to officially switch on the lights will take place at 6.45.
The new lights were installed during the summer to replace out-of-date floodlights which had been in place for thirty years and had fallen below the required standard for playing in the Western League.
The club launched a £16,000 appeal back in February of last year to help fund the new lights and it was announced in May of this year that the club had the necessary funds. Representatives of the various groups involved in the project and funding will be at Zembard Lane tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Chard have applied for outline planning permission which could see the club move from its present ground to a new site at Mount Hindrance.
The club's possible relocation is part of an overall scheme to build 450 homes on land east of Mount Hindrance Farm at Mount Hindrance Lane.
