Ashton Town, relegated from the Hallmark Security League Division One at the end of last season, have announced a new first-team managerial set-up, with David Dempsey and Neil Rimmer as joint bosses of the now Hallmark Security Cheshire League club.
Dempsey is still a player with lots of desire in management.
He is an experienced semi-pro and has played for the likes of Southport, Prescot Cables and Congleton Town to name a few.
Rimmer clocked up over 200 games for Wigan Athletic, whilst also playing for Everton and Ipswich Town.
He then went on to work behind the scenes at Oldham Athletic and more recently has been involved in football academies in America.

Ashton Town chairman Mark Hayes is very proud of his new management team: “To have two people join us with such calibre highlights that we may have taken a step backwards in league status. However, nothing changes the ambitions we have at Town.
“David is young and enthusiastic, and of course can still play at 29. He played at North West Counties League Premier level last season and so his impact both on and off the field is going to be amazing in the Cheshire League.
“Neil is someone I have known for a few years now and we have very similar desires and passion for the game. His record and service at Wigan Athletic speaks for itself.
“When you advertise you can only sit and hope as regards who applies. I had a vision in my head, and these guys combined top that vision. These really are exciting times, not just for the club, but for the Town as a whole”.
