....ended prematurely at home to Blue Square Bet South side Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday.

The Hawks had taken a 20th minute through Scott Jones and had held that one goal advantage going in to half-time when the game was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.

Jones had put the Hawks ahead after a Steve Ramsey effort had been saved by Rory Anderson, only for the ball to end up in the path of Jones who converted.

Havant did use the 45 minutes as an opportunity to field new signing Ed Harris and also triallist Patrick Wilson.

Winchester will try again on Wednesday night when another Conference South side Salisbury City - and new-signing Jamie White who, of course, left Winchester for the Whites - visit the Denplan City Ground.
