The midfielder put pen-to-paper late last week and took his place in the Robins squad at Cheltenham Saracens on Saturday.
McNamara brings a wealth of experience with him having played for Oxford City, Marlow, Didcot Town, Witney Town, Ardley United and Kidlington.
He began this season as player/assistant-manager with Peter Foley at Easington Sports and moved on to Nomads when the duo stood down from their position with Sports.
Clanfield`s joint bosses Jason Court and Peter Osborne are delighted by the signing. Osborne has known the player since schoolboy football: "We wanted to sign Darren when he left Easington but he decided to join Oxford City Nomads.
“We played together in schools and youth football and have kept in touch. Things did not quite work out at Nomads for Darren and we are very grateful to Nomads and particularly to Andy Sinnott for facilitating the smooth passage of the transfer so that he could come to us.
“I hope his experience will enable us to relax a little and get back to doing the right things at the right time."
Meanwhile, the Robins have themselves co-operated in the transfer process to enable Craig and Dean Mays to move to Premier Division and near-neighbours Witney United without the formal seven-day notice procedure.
