Clare feels the team's hard-earned 1-0 win at Park Avenue against Rossington Main will have taught his players a valuable lesson – even though Louth are unbeaten in the league after four games, with three wins and one draw. Louth have shot up to fourth in the table, two points off leaders Clipstone Welfare, with two games in hand.
But the former Grimsby Town striker isn't getting too carried away on his debut season in the manager's hot-seat.
He said: "It was as poor as we will ever play, given the high standards the players have set.
"It proves that if you don't work hard you get nothing.
"The only positives from the game were a clean sheet and three valuable points."
