....Tracey announced that Nathan Clarke - the winner of last season’s supporters` and players`player of the year - had decided that his future lay away from The MEL Group Stadium.
Tracey said: “I am extremely disappointed that he has decided that he does not want to stay with us.
“I have been in negotiations with him over the past couple of weeks and had agreed a deal that would have meant him staying with us for the next two seasons. He has gone away and now informed me that he will not be returning to Sudbury next season. He will be missed, but it now opens the door for someone else to come in and do just as good a job has he did last term.”
Tracey went onto say: “I have been speaking to a number of players since the end of the season and will keep supporters fully informed as soon as there is something concrete to tell them. The forms for Ryman league players to sign are not out yet, so unless players sign an FA contract or already on one then they are still free agents.”
Going back to Clarke, Tracey said: “I wish him well wherever he plays next season.”
During his time at the club Clarke made seventy-seven appearances and scored a dozen goals.
