....with Corinthian-Casuals by the return to the club of Ryan Marriott.

The midfielder, who was on the bench on Saturday, made a handful of appearances for the club towards the end of last season, having joined us from Billericay Town, but spent the summer training closer to his Essex home with both Canvey Island and Concord Rangers with a view to remaining in the Ryman Premier. However, a conversation between the player and manager Simon Colbran last week saw the 23-year-old midfielder take part in last Tuesday’s practice match before agreeing to sign.

“I understood his reasons for him going but I was sorry to see Ryan leave us at the end of the season because he’s a player who I rate very highly,” said Colbran. “But I’ve stayed in touch with him over the summer and when he told me how much he missed Horsham, and how it didn’t feel the same at the other clubs, I had no hesitation in asking him down.

“He’s a good lad, a quality player, and I think it says a lot about the club that he has chosen to come back to us despite so much interest elsewhere. It shows me that we’re obviously doing something right and hopefully moving in the right direction.”
