Groundshare Gets The League’s Thumbs Up

Combined Counties Premier strugglers Badshot Lea will have a new home ground to play at next season.

They are to groundshare at Camberley Town, using Krooner Park next season for their matches.

The switch has been backed by the CCL, who say the share is preferable because both of the clubs are under their banner.

Badshot were recently given grant aid funding by the Football Foundation, Football Stadium Improvement Fund and Sport England to redevelop Farnham Rugby Club’s former ground at Westfield Lane.

But until then they need a temporary base and a deal have been reached to use Camberley with extra attention given to the pitch care with two sides now using the ground.

The Combined Counties League have rubber stamped the share and say they are pleased that two member clubs will use Krooner Park.

A CCL spokesman said: “We are very happy with this arrangement, as a groundshare with a fellow Combined Counties League club is always easier to manage, especially from a fixture point of view.”
