.....contract with the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North club.
The prolific striker left the club two years ago for Crewe Alexandra after his thirty-five goals nearly fired City to promotion.
But his time with the Alex was blighted by injury and he spent spells on loan at the likes of Workington, Nantwich Town and Kendal Town before he was released from his contract at the end of the season.
Connerton has now returned to his home-town club in a bid to recapture the form that saw him turn professional, much to the delight of chairman and caretaker-manager Mick Hoyle.
He said: “I’m delighted to have signed him.
“We want to get him back to where he was last time he was with us and he needs to start scoring a few goals to put himself back in the shop window.
“He needs to get himself fit as well and has been working very hard.
“It’s an exciting signing and if we can get him back to where he was it will be great for the club.”
