Connerton Joins Reds After All
Jordan Connerton

....North club Workington after last night's friendly game at Ebac Northern Leaguers Penrith.

Left-sided player Wraighte came through Morecambe`s youth ranks before being released last year and joining local West Lancs Premier Division side Crooklands Casuals.

Niall Cowperthwaite is a defender and the son of former Barrow favourite, Colin Cowperthwaite.

Last May, Cowperthwaite was released from Morecambe after being told his contract would not be renewed after maming ten senior appearances for the Shrimps.

Connerton finally completed his on-off transfer to Workington. The striker held talks with boss Darren Edmondson after his release from League Two side Crewe Alexandra, but looked destined to sign for Evo-Stik Northern Premeir League First Division North side Lancaster City - his home-town club - after communications broke down.

Dolly Blues boss Mike Hoyle even announced the 22-year-old’s signature. But less than 24 hours later, everything changed, and Hoyle issued a statement announcing the striker`s decision before the recent 3-2 win over Workington.
