Cumbers signing new deal watched by Barrie Hobbins

He became the first of last season's players to pledge his immediate future to the Wings.

Cumbers, the Wings leading scorer last season from the players who remained at PVR, chose to "go again" with Welling United despite interest from leading clubs at this level in recent days.

Meanwhile, the Wings have made their first signing of the season with Sam Mott joining from Thamesmead Town.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper impressed manager Jamie Day during their FA Trophy qualification matches and has been rewarded with a stint at Park View Road after an excellent season with the Ryman League Division One North side.
