....Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West rivals Poole Town.

Smith arrives at Cuthbury with a proven track record, netting 137 goals in 221 appearances during his time at Poole. And Cuss, a former assistant-manager at Poole, is well aware of what the front man has to offer.

“I worked with him for four seasons,” said the Magpies boss. “Steve Smith has a good attitude and is a proven finisher. He’s a very good player and a pleasure to work with.

“Steve has been looking for a chance to prove himself in the Southern League and we are going to give him that chance.

“He’s a very important signing for us.”

Meanwhile, Wimborne have named Ed Taylor as the new reserve team manager. Taylor, who works as community football coach, will also be managing one of the Magpies two under-18 sides and will have a key role in developing young talent.
