....unsurprising Tom Davis is not certain of his footballing future.
The 28-year-old former Sutton United midfielder lifted the title with Woking last month to go with championship crowns he has also won at Lewes and AFC Wimbledon.
Davis, who has also won the Conference South play-offs with St Albans City, has been on-loan at the Cards from Carshalton Athletic, who he joined last summer having won the Ryman Premier League with United last year. And he revealed another league title, his fourth in five seasons, does not make him certain of being at Kingfield or Coulston Avenue come the start of next season.
“Once Woking came in for me and Paul Dipre agreed I could go on loan, it was a no brainer really and I was lucky enough to play enough games to get a winners’ medal,” he said.
“I’m still contracted to Carshalton. We are talking to try and get something sorted with Woking for next season, but it is all up in the air at the moment.
“I guess that wherever I go, I could be their lucky charm with the run of league wins I’m on at the moment.
“I would like to get a chance in the Blue Square Premier because I’ve never really been given a proper chance at that level.
“That is three Blue Square South titles. I’m not sure there are many other players in non-League football who can say they have done that.”
Woking face Sutton in the Surrey Senior Cup on May 8th at Kingstonian’s Kingsmeadow Stadium, but they will be without the cup-tied Davis.
And he admitted his current club would be out to put one over on his former team-mates on the night.
“I can’t play in the game because I’ve already played for Carshalton in the competition,” he said.
“I really enjoyed my time at Sutton and I still look out for their results. I hope they do well in the play-offs.
“But this is an opportunity for Garry and the boys to win more silverware and I know they want to win it.”
