Denley Joins Management Team
Sam Denley

Luchford said: “I have appointed Sam Denley onto the management team with Richard Langley and I.

“Sam will work closely with us with the first-team with immediate effect. He will bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn the other side of the game as well as his football knowledge as a player. He is well known by the club, and is a local lad which is imperative if we are to move the club forward and have an understanding of what is on our doorstep.

“Richard and I have always wanted to build up the backroom staff, but we have been patient in deciding what is right for us and for the club.

“It will not end here, as I will be looking to strengthen even more as time goes on. Maybe not now but certainly in the summer.

“We are starting to get to where we need to be, but now we need to start repaying the chairman and Board’s support on the pitch.

“I am delighted Sam has decided to join us. I know he has ambitions himself to be a manager one day, and this will help him develop into that role. He already knows a lot of the players and he will start to get to know all the others that will be new to him. It`s a transition for him, as he now has to stand back from being one of the lads on a match day to ensuring he works with Richard and I to give the players the best possible chance of winning football matches.

“I am confident Sam will fit it like a glove. Both Richard and I are looking forward to working with him and no doubt this can only be good news for the club.”

Denley said: “I am extremely pleased and privileged to have been asked by Justin to join him and Richard as part of the management team at Whitstable Town.

“Whitstable have played a big part in my football career and having recently retired due to injury I am excited about my new role within the club.

“After speaking with Justin I soon realised the passion he has for the club and I look forward to working with him, Richard and the players to bring future success to Whitstable Town Football Club.”
