....Northern Premier League First Division North.

The Millers edged out Prescot Cables 2-1 at home, taking the lead just before half-time, courtesy of a David Fitzpatrick penalty.

But Luke Edwards equalised just past the hour-mark, only for Cables to lose it in the very last minute of the game when Ross Needham pounced for the Millers` winner.

Garforth Town suffered off-field problems in the summer, meaning many of their first-team players departed the Yorkshire club.

Their mixture of youth and local talent lost their opening game 2-0 at home against Clitheroe on Saturday but then found themselves on the wrong end of a 6-0 hammering at the Tameside Stadium by one of the title-favourites, Curzon Ashton.

Scott Metcalfe set the ball rolling for the hosts with the opening goal after 14 minutes. But from then on it was the Kristian Dennis show.

The former Macclesfield Town and Mossley striker scored the equaliser for Curzon in Saturday`s 1-1 draw at Salford City and he took his tally to the season to SIX by scoring five last night!

He completed a hat-trick before half-time with goals in the 32ns, 39th and 41st minute.

He made it 5-0 with just 3 minutes of the second period gone and made it a personal nap hand just before the hour-mark.
