To this end has started the process of bringing in triallist Danny Devine, the former Preston North End centre half.
Just turned 20 years of age, the Belfast-born youngster has most recently been with reigning Conference champions Fleetwood Town and will join the Dragons on loan from the Fylde coast club.
He has turned out twice for Wrexham`s reserves as an international triallist, which allowed him the opportunity to play two games within a twenty-eight-day period.
As well as his time at Deepdale, Devine was a youth player back in Ulster, turning out Linfield before crossing the Irish Sea as a 16-year-old and then going on to sign a professional contract with North End at the end of his scholarship.
He had been training with the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday over the summer, looking to gain a place on their Development squads.
Meanwhile, another triallist has moved on with Simon Hackney leaving the Racecourse to sign for FC Halifax Town in the Conference North and he made his debut in last Saturday’s convincing 5-0 success at home to Gloucester City.
He will find another player with Wrexham connections at The Shay this season is midfielder Jason Jarrett, who joined the Yorkshire club after a successful trial spell in the summer, although his previous club appears to be Oldham Athletic, who he left eighteen months previously in January 2011.
