Twenty-year-old former Northampton Town trainee McGowan made a handful of appearances during his time at the Steelmen at the end of last season. Since leaving the Cobblers, he has also previously represented Cogenhoe United, Biggleswade Town and St Ives Town.
"Tom is a good ball player and is exactly what I was looking for to add to my squad," said Drury. "He has a fantastic football brain for a young lad and now he needs to get more games under his belt.
"I think he should be looking at playing thirty games this season if not maybe even forty or more. This will give him the chance to progress his game.”
Jones, a 6'5" central defender, was on a dual registration in the second half of last season with Corby and Peterborough Northern Star, where he had started the campaign and where he was managed by the Steelmen's new assistant boss, Chris Plummer.
"Richard will be our skipper this season and we managed to persuade him to join us over staying at Corby which is fantastic," explained a delighted Drury. "I'm glad he has come to Stamford, he picked up man of the match a few times during his time at Corby last year and hugely impressed me.
"He's a big lad and very quick so he will certainly be a key asset to the team.
"I've tried signing him five or six times in the past because he is a great leader. He also shows a positive attitude on and off the pitch and coming to Stamford will be a good stepping stone for him.
"He raised his game well in the Conference North last year and showed he was capable of playing at that level so I expect big things from him this season."
