Following the resignation of Scott Miles as manager of East Midlands Counties League club Gedling Miners Welfare due to personal reasons, the club have appointed West Bridgford`s title-winning management team from last season of Chris Marks, Stuart Robinson and Steve Astill.

Marks and Robinson have been appointed as joint-managers, with Astill joining as coach and current coaching staff of Sam Peters, Dave Green and Kevin Northage remaining in their current positions.

Miles will remain as a player and a much-valued member of the club.

It’s straight into business for the new team as pre-season kicks off tomorrow.

Marks said: “We are absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to manage the club, Gedling is an excellent club with a long-standing history.

“When we interviewed with the chairman our decision was made very easy, we felt very much wanted, the set-up is absolutely immaculate and the off-field infrastructure is certainly in place to get the club going again. We had several offers from the league above but felt this was the perfect fit for us and now cannot wait to get started.

“Steve Astill will be coming in as first team coach to join the excellent coaching staff already with Gedling and we look forward to taking the club forward”.
