...league next season after highlighting a number of players he wants to bring in. With Accrington Stanley full-back Tom Smyth leaving the club after the 2-0 defeat to Solihull Moors, Edmondson said bringing in players is paramount to future success.
Edmondson admits it may be difficult to acquire fresh faces before the season’s end with money tight at Borough Park.
He said: “I have been making phone calls to agents and clubs because at the moment we’re short in terms of numbers.
“We’ve lost Tom, Gari Rowntree and Alex White is on loan. I can’t afford to move Anthony Wright and David Hewson into the defence because it would leave us short in other areas.
“I’ve identified a number of players that could be available but we’re also looking long-term. We need players that could be available for next year too.
“It’s going to be difficult because money is tight and realistically we won’t be in the play-offs this year so the board may not feel it’s essential to bring in other players.”
Edmondson said it’s vital to finish the year on a good run in order to take momentum into next year.
He said: “We were unlucky against Solihull. There’s no way we deserved to lose. We had chances, should have been given a penalty but our luck wasn’t in.”
