Clapton Ultras are celebrating the news that the club will be staying put next season.
Fears were growing that the club were about to be forced out of the Spotted Dog Stadium.
But more time has been given – and the fans who back the club with great noise and colour won’t have to concern themselves with off-field problems.
A club statement read: “In recent weeks there has been much speculation about Clapton and it’s future position in the Essex Senior League.
“As far as the club and management team are concerned, our position is clear and we can confirm that following the Annual General Meeting of the League on Thursday (22nd June), Clapton Football Club has been elected into the Essex Senior League Premier Divison for the 2017-18 season.
“Our home venue will continue to be the Old Spotted Stadium.
“With all the hard work being put in in all areas, our second place position in the 2016-17 is something that we will continue to build upon – we still have our sights set on being promoted to the Ryman League in the future.”
