Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North club Radcliffe Borough have announced that Joe Gibbons has accepted the role of first-team manager on a permanent basis.

The former assistant-manager took over as caretaker in the wake of Bill Prendergast’s departure and has shown the qualities that were desired by the club over the interim period.

Following a meeting with the Board last night, Gibbons was offered and accepted the role and the club feel that this will give the much-needed stability required to push on with the developments planned for the close season and beyond.

Gibbons will now be tasked with building the squad for the upcoming season.

Chairman Paul Hilton said: “Following a series of meetings it was clear to the Board that Joe has the ability and qualities that we are looking for in a Manager. We have had the pleasure of getting to know him over the last few months and we are confident that he will take the club forward in a way that aligns with our vision and plan for development on and off the field.

“We are all excited and now looking forward to next season and what the future will bring under his stewardship.”

Gibbons takes charge of the first-team on a permanent basis for the first time against Prescot Cables at Taurus Park tomorrow in the clubs` last game of the season.
