Danylyk Starts Building Early

The season may have only just ended but Ant Danylyk, manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South club Leek Town, has already started his squad building for next season.

The key duo of leading scorer Tim Grice and defensive lynch-pin Darren Chadwick have both put pen-to-paper and signed contracts for the 2017/18 season.

Grice will have his eye on the club’s all-time goalscoring record. The striker is only 22 strikes behind current record holder Dave Sutton, and if he stays fit he will have every chance of becoming number one on the list next season.

Chadwick, meanwhile, has been leading by example this season and his committed displays have made him a firm favourite with the supporters.

He is now in his second spell at the club and has passed the 100 appearance-mark for the club and has also chipped in with a useful tally of 7 goals this campaign.

Commenting on the signings, Danylyk said: “This is a very solid foundation for us to build on; not only is it important to keep the good players we have, but also to attract new players to the club.

“Having players who have pledged their loyalty and have been around for a while, shows others what a great club this is to be part of”.
