Frickley Athletic have announced Spencer Fearn is their new manager and they will receive investment from the North of England Football Academy.

The ex Maltby Main boss is a qualified UEFA B coach. He has previously been involved off the pitch with the running of East Stirling and Stockport County.

John Stancliff who was part of the coaching team at Main joins as assistant manager. Dan Mills will be a first team scout.

Fearn replaces Karl Rose who returned to the club but could not save them from relegation from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division.

The club have also announced that North of England Football Academy are to provide further assistance with their Chief Executive, Ryan McKnight joining the clubs board alongside Fearn.

Speaking about the club Ryan McKnight told the Frickley Athletic website.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for us to work with the excellent volunteers. I also look forward to working with the directors at Frickley to help improve the clubs fortunes. The funds we are investing will see stability for the club in the short-term”

“However, to turn that into a long term success we will need the support of the local community. Local businesses and of course supporters, old and new. We invite anyone wanting to help to get in touch by e-mailing ryan@nefa.co.uk.”
