Tommy Lawson has been rewarded for turning Marine’s season around with a deal for next season.
The club were in serious trouble when he took over from Sean Hessey in late February and was quick to make his mark.
Just one defeat in their last 7 games demonstrates their improvement. It took Marine until mid March to record their second win of 2017 but since that win against Ashton their form has been spectacular.
Ahead of the final Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division game on Saturday against Buxton, they had won 14 points from their previous 21 available.
Chairman Paul Leary confirmed to BBC Merseyside that Lawson has accepted the challenge to steer the team next season.
Fans hope he could even build a side to possibly challenge for promotion following their positive end to the season.
Leary said he was “delighted” with the impression Lawson, the former Skelmsersdale manager, had made at Marine since arriving under two months ago.
